June 9, 2011

I seriously cannot even believe that it has been two weeks already. I'm so busy that i don't even notice it.
Happy Birthday Dad! I hope you got the card i sent and are able to translate it.  Thanks for writing every night!
I start my day out by waking up at 6 instead of 6:30 because i don't want to wait in the big shower line. You know me, waking up all early. Then we have personal study for an hour which involves most of the time a nice long "prayer" (that's what people call taking a nap hahaha) i "pray" a lot. And after that study we go to breakfast to have some nice freezing cold eggs with sausage. And then we go to 4 hours of language study. The language is going amazing. The Lord truly has blessed me with the gift of tongues. I can understand everything when someone talks to me and i can almost fully speak. We were teaching to some elders that have been here for 6 weeks now and they thought i had been here for that long. After the language study we go to lunch for some frozen/overcooked pot roast of some kind of mystery meat that is unknown to everyone here. Then back to another 3-4 hours of language study. Then an hour of gym. I usually play beach volleyball. It's definitely the most fun part of my day. And then i get mail after that and get sad because there's nothing there. Just kidding. But seriously. Then i hit the hay for the day.
So that's the "a day in the life of elder gygi" version of "a day in the life of elder sewell". :)
We had some native speakers move into our zone this week. That has helped a ton, and it's always way fun to talk to them.
I love the packages! :) But i'm definitely stocked for about another month hahaha
Trek sounded amazing. I'm jealous i never got to go on one. I'm glad jared learned to work :) Never forget Jared that WORK is the KEY to missionary work. There is no success from missionaries who don't know how to work. So keep that up lil bro.
Oh! So i saw Elder Heap yesterday. (todd heap's brother) and he was glad to make contact with someone from mesa. He was a great guy.
I haven't had a single headache since i've been here. It's truly a miracle. Thanks for the prayers.
So my companion...i've really struggled. We are total opposites and that kind of clashes pretty bad. But i just have to be the bigger man and learn to be have more patience. It's good to get this experience over with the first companion i have. But i'm working on it really hard.
Thanks for all the support everyone!
Love,
Elder Gygi
