We’ve had a
rough week here in Los Banos. All of our baptismal dates dropped. It’s kind of
discouraging, but all you can do is keep looking forward. Our investigators
have to get married first or have to quit smoking or drinking. So there is a
lot we are trying to help them with, and it’s only one step at a time.
This past
week Elder Luna went on a split with the senior missionaries in Chowchilla. So
I stayed and worked in Los Banos with a member for the day. I was teaching our
recent convert, Norma in Spanish. We were talking about the temple and baptisms
for the dead. And she was having a hard time understanding the importance of
that. Out of nowhere this member I’m with pulls out a scripture from D&C
and it fit perfectly. I was like, “What the heck?! How did you even know to fit
that in, cuz it was in Spanish?” And he said, “I don’t know, it just popped
into my head.” (Which Doctrine & Covenants scripture do you think it was? This...? or This one...? A different one?)
So it was
pretty cool to see how the Lord can guide us to teach a certain scripture or
something. But I know that is so true. I know that when we sensitively listen
to the voice of the Spirit, we will be guided as tools in His hands. (Sensitively... I love it when the missionaries assimilate so much into the culture of their missions.)
So ya, not
much more to about this week. We just need to keep pressing forward and help
resolve concerns with investigators as we find at the same time.
Take care
and stay safe!
Love,
