Hey Family!
It was super great to hear from you! Good job Jared for finally finishing the Eagle! And good job mom for being and Eagle mom, 3 for 3! Dad's right, the credit goes to you. And Jared remember in soccer when we would tell you to "sacrifice your body"? Well that doesn't work with driving. (Jared got his driver's permit last week.) It's not a sport. So yeah, just don't give dad a heart attack okay? hahaha
So I had a super FUN week! I went on two exchanges to Sanger! One with Sanger Spanish elders and another with the Sanger English zone leaders. I even went to church on Sunday in Sanger! Guess who came to visit Fresno??? Elder Rodriguez!!!! My trainer!! It's sad seeing him without a tag though. He came to visit me at the apartment, and he showed up at church in Sanger on Sunday, which was totally unexpected! I seriously love that town and Elder Rodriguez so much. While I was sitting in the very back from with "Brother" Rodriguez looking at everyone in the chapel. We looked at the back row of the benches, which was completely full. And I'm like, "Elder Rodriguez, you baptized every single person on that back bench!" Isn't that just the best?
And when I went to church on Sunday I see a man who I used to teach. He has three kids, they are 10 years old and triplets! Anyways, his whole family got baptized and he came up to me and was like, "Hey! You were the first to come to my house. Sign my Book of Mormon!" It was awesome. He's the one who has some disease and in is a wheelchair. I was talking to him about his baptism and stuff and he said it was the best thing he has ever done. He said he has received so many blessings and that his body just feels so healthy.
And I got thinking about that. Maybe he thought his blessing would be that he could walk again. But he paid attention to the small blessings. He feels healthier and healthier each and every day. And it got me thinking that I was looking for these huge miracle blessings in my mission when I’m missing all these small blessings I receive. So I told myself I would pay more attention to the small blessings I receive.
I'm grateful for my parents who taught me to be who I am today.
I'm grateful for my brothers who support me doing this.
I'm grateful for my friends who kept me safe and led me to be here.
I'm grateful for President Gelwix who is one of the greatest examples to me.
I'm grateful for President Monson listening to the spirit and calling me to Fresno.
I'm grateful most of all for Jesus Christ, that he suffered personally for me.
And I know that I was called to this mission before this life, because I have met people and brought them the gospel that I can just feel I promised I would find them. And there are still more to come.
And that's that.
Love,
Elder Gygi
