Transferred & A New Assignment

Elder Gygi & Elder Petersen, MTC
Hey Family!

We had a pretty good week. First of all, Saturday was transfer calls. I forgot to tell you! But President Gelwix called me on Thursday night and talked to me for a bit. He released me as a District Leader. And I thought I was totally off the hook! hahaha But he then called me to be a Zone Leader. So yeah. And I will be going about an hour and a half north up to Turlock. I will be a Zone Leader there with Elder Neeley! I'm not sure if you remember Elder Neeley, but he's the super tall one who was in my MTC district. I'm super excited to work with him. He's such a great missionary. And we will be in the Ceres 3rd Spanish Branch, which I hear just baptizes like crazy! I don't know much about the city of Ceres, but I hear it's a little town, a lot like Sanger. So I’m super pumped to serve there.

But yeah, this week was pretty fun. We went to the hospital a couple times to give priesthood blessings, which is always a good opportunity. And it always has to be up in the Intensive Care Unit. Seriously every time. It's kinda scary up there, but I love going to help them out.

Chicken Boy
A couple days ago we were trying to contact a referral we got, so we went to knock on his door. Some man opened up and just told us to come on in. So we totally thought it was the man we were looking for. Then he told us his name was Lupe. Definitely not who we were looking for. But it's all good cuz we sat down and talked to him about the restoration. And it was just amazing to see how prepared he is. He was super receptive, and it was just a perfect lesson. We had a member with us, and the member gave him his number and invited him for dinner, and to church. It was awesome. We were able to set a baptismal date with him for the 1st of September (Chicken Boy's birthday).

It's just amazing to see the progress of this ward in so little time. It was right after we did the missionary fireside with the whole ward that the work started to boom. But now we have so much support and a lot more trust. So now is a great place to leave it, as it's my time to be transferred now. We even had about 20-25 investigators come to our FHE night on Wednesday at a member's home. I'm going to miss this ward a ton.

I seriously have no clue how Ramona over in Sanger finds out I am leaving so fast. Hahaha She made me my favorite Agua Fresca and froze it and gave it to someone to give to me at church. Man I love that family.

Oh one other thing I’m super excited about Turlock is that it's a lot COLDER. Actually, idk how much cooler it is, but I’ve heard it's pretty significant :)

So yeah, thanks for all your support. I seriously couldn't do this without y'all. (Nyal :))

I know this church is true. I know that the Lord has a specific plan for each one of us in this life. I know that he hears our prayers and knows exactly what we are going through. I know that he is in 100% control of His work and His church.

Take care this week!

Love,

Elder Gygi
