Hey!
So I'm here in Los Banos with Elder Luna now. It's pretty much all
English, which I was disappointed in. And it really is in the middle of nowhere. I'm about an hour away from any actual towns. It's basically a
stopping point for travelers coming from the Bay Area. And yes, Los Banos means
the bathrooms in Spanish. And yes, it does smell like bathrooms occasionally.
Elder Luna is pretty cool. He's from Tijuana, Mexico. He was
supposed to go home at the end of this transfer (Jan. 19) but he got extended till
February.
We have some pretty good investigators right now that we're
teaching. We actually have a baptism for a lady named Norma this Sunday, which I’m
pretty excited about. She came to church and looked way excited about baptism.
There are about 50 people who attend church each week. And about 10 people who
actually come on time at the beginning of sacrament meeting. So it's pretty
small.
We are also teaching a lady named Christine and her two kids. She is
really progressing right now and hopefully we will be able to commit her to
baptism this next time we see her.
I guess right now, I’m trying to find out the reason I have been
called here by President Gelwix. I know he was inspired to move me here, I just
need to find out what that reason is.
Do you know what area Elder Frost is in? Maybe he's being trained by Elder Rodriguez? I know he's training
right now. That would be sweet. (Elder Frost is in Selma, CA serving with Elder Cruz)
The libraries are closed on Mondays, so I will be emailing on Tuesdays
here.
Have a great week!
Love,
