"Some Holiday"

Sean & Taylor, White Sands Beach, Tanzania

Hey Family!

I didn't even know yesterday was some holiday, but the libraries were closed. So, sorry about that. We had a pretty great week in Ceres.

We had a great experience with one of our 10-year-old investigators this past week. He was struggling with fear of baptism and really understand if he was ready to do it or not. We helped to encourage him and try to help him understand. Then we went back he said, "I’m ready to be baptized now." His name in A., and he was just baptized this past Saturday. It was an awesome experience because we really weren't expecting a baptism, but miracles happen.

A week from today we will be having a zone conference with Elder Golden of the Seventy. He's from South Africa. So yeah, that's pretty cool. I'm super excited for that. (Elder Golden was in our stake presidency when we lived in Pretoria, So. Africa.)

We're always crazy busy with the responsibilities we have. Like this upcoming Thursday we have to help move some elders and a senior couple in practically all day. So we won't have much time to teach that day. But we're always running around doing stuff. Last month we drove 2500 miles hahaha. (That's like Ceres, CA to Cincinnati, OH to see his cousin Ryan!)

Oh by the way you said something about Sister Van de Merwe. She actually finished up her mission last transfer. So she's home now. And Elder Dunford is the zone leader in Merced right now. It's the zone just south of me.

We had some really great training at the zone leader council the other day. My favorite part was a talk we watched of Elder Holland. He talked about the story in John chapter 21 when He goes back to Peter at the sea. Basically He asks Peter if he loves Him more than these boats and fishes and nets and stuff. And He asked that three times. Then Elder Holland showed that Jesus was disappointed that Peter didn't leave the nets and fish behind.

And we just barely had a zone meeting and shared that story and applied that story. And we just encouraged the missionaries to leave their nets behind and fully give themselves to God.

I know that has been the hardest thing for me to do but it has for sure blessed my life more than anything.

Love you all!

-Elder Gygi

A foot race perhaps?
