Week 50!!!

Hey Family!

Okay, soooo..... Lot’s of stuff this week...oh by the way, I’m emailing today because we went to the temple this morning. So that was a ton of fun. I love the temple. Sorry, I forgot to tell you last week.

But anyways, I guess I’ll just start with the great news. So in the past two months we have had 2 mission conferences from members of the quorum of the twelve. Elder Perry and Elder Christofferson. Note that most missions get a mission conference every couple of years, if that. Our mission is just so lucky I guess.

Well having said that...we will be having yet another all-mission conference on June 16th(which is National Fudge Day, btw)Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will be visiting the California Fresno Mission! Hahahaha We got a call out from President Gelwix about it last night. I just started to laugh because I totally thought he was joking. But I guess he is serious. Hahaha so in 3 months, we will have had 3 Apostles visit our mission. We are so lucky. President Gelwix is like one of the top 3 "favorites" of the General Authorities. (Can GA's have favorites? I know that members of the church have favorites... But GA's, really? Actually, why not?)

Ballard Motor Co.
So yeah, the area. Well our area is doing...decently. Pretty much we have 3 people who are ready and actually want to be baptized, they just aren't married. Why is this entire world not married? It is seriously such a huge problem. And it's almost impossible to actually get them married. So yeah.

So the past few weeks we have been going to the ICU-burn unit of the hospital to see someone. I don't know if I ever told you that experience. But basically we went to see one of our investigators cousin about a month back. Be got trapped in a trailer that burned down and he wasn't able to escape after he helped his family through the window. But we went to go give him a blessing, we didn't know he was as burned as he actually was. We even had to put on sterile clothes and gloves and stuff.  We couldn't even anoint or touch his head. It was super bad. So we were able to say a prayer with him.

But anyways, after we did that, we were about to leave when someone asked us to come over to a different room. Apparently she was a less active member who's mom got her feet burnt pretty bad. So we go and give her a blessing. Then her and her son who aren't members start asking us a bunch of questions. So they were basically admiring us for sacrificing so much for two years. Basically we were teaching them at the hospital for the past couple weeks. I have never felt so much love for an investigator. His name is AJ and his mom Pedra. They are so ridiculously prepared, it's not even funny. He feels the spirit so strong. I had a spiritual confirmation that they were people I promised to come to the earth and find.

They took us to Olive Garden for dinner one night too. It was amazing. But they are both English. So we are going to have to pass them on to the other [English-speaking] ward pretty soon. I just felt so much love for them and didn't want to pass them on. But I felt like I did my purpose and found them and taught them the basics. That's what we do. I hope to be at their baptism here hopefully pretty soon.

So yeah. Fun week. There was a bit more, but I don't have much time left. Sorry. Have a great week though!

Love,

Elder Gygi

OH! And before I forget...so Mother's Day. It's the same as last time. You have to call me at your best time. I have church from 9-2. So pretty much call me any time after that. My best bet would be 3:30 pm PDT. So let me know what would work for you. I can change it to whenever you would like. And President Gelwix would like to let you know that this call is for mothers. And so it is mom's phone call that she is to control, I guess and that she is allowed to divide some to others for a bit if she would like. So yeah, it's for you mom. Maximum of 40 mins. Love you!
